I just feel like touching base tonight with readers who follow my tortuous journey. Thank you for sticking with me, coming here to read and sometimes interact. It would feel very lonely to share my heart and struggles if no one were reading. I especially want to thank those of you who comment: to hear that my words are meaningful and encouraging to you is a trickle of grace and hope into my heart. Because of my depression, my active relational circle is very small, so I have almost nowhere else to make a positive impact on the world, to feel my life matters to anyone but my wife and dog. I just want you all to know that you matter to me, and that is not a small thing. Thank You.

Beautiful, Solemn, Peaceful, but Lonely
Of course you matter…we may be separated by miles…but I remember that encounter as I was on a walk.. Going right by your parents house on campus…it was right before I was leaving CBC. You had noticed I was quieter than usual…more it was a time of being reflective…you know just to notice something outside yourself is good. Internalizing weather it be worry as myself…or depression as yourself …..looking outward to God and others is the key to success…that you can see the brightness of the things in this life and know that you…are not alone. I am so glad that God is strength us made perfect in our weakness…praise God from whom all blessings flow….me admiting I’m we allows room for His strength..amen
Thank you for reading and commenting. We all do make an impact on each other, hopefully more for the good than not. Read this by Mister Rogers recently: “If you could only sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to the people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person.” It’s good to remember.
Depression rarely reaches out to receive it, but it’s there…your significance. And I thank you for acknowledging mine.
thanks for dropping by to share.
I am deeply thankful that you choose to open a window of your life and let us see in to your honest process and struggle. I’ve gained so much hope, encouragement and perspective from your words. Please keep sharing as you are able.
What very kind and encouraging words, Kristin! I feel so richly blessed when I hear someone is benefiting from what I write.
I really appreciate your reflections here and your facebook posts. I am currently enjoying the Mr. Roger’s quotes. I watched Mr. Rogers as an adult (for years) with my sons and always marveled at how I became a child again as I watched, and slowly received healing through his shows. I understood more fully how this happened when I read that he said he saw the space between the TV and the viewer as holy ground. I realized that the Holy Spirit had used him in my life to heal the bruises/wounds of childhood. Your Mr. Roger’s quotes are a lovely reminder of this marvelous gift of healing.
Thank you for your openness and truth. Your perspective is a blessing.
Thank you for your kind and encouraging words. Mister Rogers has done more to bring gentleness and grace to this world, especially the world of children, than almost anyone I can think of. What an incredible legacy! Did you know he was an ordained Presbyterian minister? May we all be a part of channeling that grace to this sad and broken world!
